The Rewards of Competition - HOTB Style

I wish you could have seen the look of excitement on my face when this package arrived in the mail from Rachel at A Reservation For Six. Rachel is our beautiful sponsor for the Hair of the Blog Contest. Although I was not the winner, Rachel was kind enough to send a consolation prize...and what a consolation prize it is. This is the perfect gift for the woman who needs a shave. Rachel, how did you ever know?!

Momma Bear was the winner, but we have yet to find out what her Grand Prize was. Kelly at Heathen Family Revival came in second and shared her prize with us. Aliceson at Feet Off the Table received her consolation prize as well. Melanie at What's Happening Mallons? competed, but we're all waiting to see what her consolation prize was.

I want to thank Rachel for hosting this very sophisticated competition. She is truly the epitome of style and grace. I look forward with great anticipation to next year's event.

All that said, I am glad that this contest is coming to an end for the simple reason that I am growing quite tired of looking at my armpits every time I open my blog.

I would have Freckle take the photos again, but Rachel has me on a deadline here. My camera is not very good, but I believe that there is enough hair now that it is able to focus...sort of. I actually got my husband to take these. Is he a trooper or what?!

So...what d'ya think? Impressive, right? I am certainly the most impressive candidate. You know I am. Don't you?! Yes, of course you do. Hair of the Blog Part III

Warning: Any men out there (Are you there Rooster X?) and those faint of heart, might want to skip this post.

Well readers here it is. Time for my HOTB update. Thanks to Freckle I've got a photo to share. My husband says I should throw in the towel, but I think my armpits are way more impressive than the legs I've seen. They are even more impressive than the eyebrows that have been submitted...don't you think? Look here.

He said that if I had been able to enter my thighs I would easily blow away the competition. But since the vertigo, I haven't been able to shave there. Of course the vertigo is now gone and well...I still haven't shaved there.

At our first photo shoot Freckle laughed at my pitiful armpits. I said "Oh really?! Want to see something impressive." I showed her my beautifully adorned thighs. Her comment? "Did you ever think of waxing that?" See? Impressive, right?!

Alas, all I have submitted for this utterly silly competition are my pitiful armpits. Here they are (well the left one anyway, the right photo was too blurry) for your viewing pleasure.

Hair of the Blog '09 - Part II

I am writing my post now (this morning), but waiting to actually post it. It seems that my camera sucks. I tried to take picture of my armpit hair, but it was all a blur. I tried five times. Nothing. Well, the hair is there but the camera can't focus on it.


While talking with Freckle this morning (she has an AWESOME camera - I covet it) I asked her if she would take pictures of my armpits while we're at her house today. She said yes and informed me that it was a true testimony of her love for me. I would have to agree.

Okay, maybe not so graphic. I wrote all of the above this morning, went to Freckle's house and with her awesome camera only got mediocre photos. (Sorry Freckle!) She said that if we went outside the pictures would come out great. However, I didn't really feel that inspired to go outside in my bra, let alone in 40 something degree weather. Still, the pictures came out WAY better than my camera. I will post all the photos we took with the hope that you will be able to see something.
