Yeah, the grass is changing colors, too. :-/
Yes, you are experiencing my brown thumb in all its glory. These are the times that I have that extra wish that the Lizard King was around. After talking with a friend, I learned that new lawns and trees need a much longer watering time than established ones. The sprinkler times are adjusted and we're keeping our fingers crossed that the grass and trees become green and vibrant again. Wish us luck!

Your friend is correct, new plants and grass always need more water so their roots can get snug with the soil.
More water should do the trick.
:)
I hope so. We've been doing this for 3 or 4 days now and it's not looking any worse. I'm working on that green thumb!
If it doesn't improve, you could rake up the dry patches and put down some grass seed and continue watering.
Yeah, a green thumb doesn't come overnight as I've learned. But with consistent effort it will eventually appear.
:)
My lawn looks horrible right now. Infact the entire neighborhood looks like a brown brush. Yuk! It's been the hottest summer in years! Normally I have a green thumb, but this year it hasn't helped my poor dead tree in the front yard.
Grass will come back, hope the tree isn't too far gone.
t. and Joe, our lawn is new sod and the trees are new too. I hope they come back. If not, I would think there would be some sort of guarantee??? But who knows. Thanks for commenting! :)
Good luck. It's been so hot all over!
Thanks Sheila!
