On September 22nd we are joining our friends as they renew their wedding vows in Jamaica. The Lizard King was just home for a visit about 2 and a half weeks ago. The plan was that he would meet us in Atlanta and we would fly together to Jamaica. We were all looking forward to spending a whole week together.
The Lizard King emailed me on Monday with bad news, ugly news and good news.
The bad news: he was leaving for Afghanistan in a week. Yes, my bloggy friends. They need LK's expertise in Afghanistan. They asked him to go over. It will be a shorter trip and he assures me that he will be safe.
The ugly news: he will not be able to go to Jamaica with us.
The good news: he is spending a long weekend with us.
He arrived yesterday evening.
Right now I am trying to focus on the "I get to spend time with my husband" part. I'll think about the Jamaica vacation without him later.

Ugh.
I know any time with your hubby is time well spent. Now Jamaica with or without him is a nice get away. Have a great time with LK.

Frau, thank you. We are enjoying our time together. We're not doing much, but it really doesn't matter...we're together. Jamaica will be fun, but not quite what it could have been. It will be a nice getaway and seeing my friends renew their vows will be wonderful.
Sorry to hear it SL, make sure you enjoy the time together, I hope to get a chance to meet LK sometime soon.

Danny and SMT, we really are enjoying our time together. LK is truly my best friend and we love being around each other no matter what we are doing.
Danny, I would love you guys to meet. It's been ages since I've seen you. You never know...we may make it back east one day.

Zayna, once we get through all of this and pay off the ex-wife (alimony sucks) it will be a lot more good. I know it will. We are having a blast. =)
