My Sister, My Friend

We have had lots of ups and lots of downs, but when it comes down to it my sister is always there for me. She is coming over every week to help me pack the house. Last week she even came over and packed while I had an evening out with friends. She does so much for me and I don't think she knows how much I appreciate her. I wish that I could do more for her.

She has asked me to be maid of honor in her wedding next March. We went dress shopping for my dress and to get some ideas for Princess' flower girl dress. I hope that I can do as good a job as she did when she was my maid of honor. She was amazing!

At first I thought those photos were of you! You two look so much alike!

I always wished I had a sister but only had brothers, great brothers but still the sister thing would have been fun too. I'm so glad I have two girls that can now share all of the fun girly stuff.

I love that dress Princess has on. It's not pink but it's lovely!

No worries...Princess' dress will be pink! That was just to see how it looked.

I am very lucky to have my sister. I have a step-brother and we're only months apart, but we aren't close at all.

I love my sister now, but as children we routinely attempted to murder each other. Perhaps that period of pathological rage helped us forge our bond? Like surviving war together ;)

Interesting technique, Kelly! Glad it worked for you and your sister. ;)

And Aliceson, we get that all the time! Just before my wedding, my sister-in-law walked up to my sister and started talking to her thinking she was me!

Wow Frau! 4 sisters...I've got another sister and a step-sister, but we're not that close. This one here is the baby. She and I have always had a special bond, since the day she was born.

Sheila, it always makes us laugh and we look at each other and don't see it at all. And I can't wait to see Princess and well, my sister too, on my sister's wedding day.

Geez, I need to come up with a pseudonym for her so I can stop calling her my sister.

How exciting ... love weddings! You guys are so lucky to have each other I often wish I lived closer to my brother - we were four years apart and not very similar in any shape way or form! he has a fantastic wife whom I love and we've tried to get out to visit each other but it isn't always easy or affordable.
I know you'll make an awesome maid of honor!

And yay!! I'm so glad you'll be at LIG!! I look forward to meeting you in person!

Fiona, I guess I can thank Princess for having my sister live so close. My sister lived with us when we lived in Georgia and when Princess was born. When we decided to move back to Portland (Princess was 1), my sister couldn't stand the thought of being so far away from Princess so she moved out here too! Lucky me!!

Awww, what a wonderful post of sisterhood! I have 2 younger sisters, we are all very close, my best friends.

Shocking how much you both look alike! I love that she moved to Portland to be close to Princess. That's someting my youngest sis would do, she loves her nieces.

LOVE the pics of Princess! She is the cutest thing and her personality just shines through in the photos.

That's so awesome!

Honestly, I've read this post a half dozen times already hoping I'd come up with something more relevant to say other than...

...this really makes me miss my sister.

Oh, I love Princess' dress btw, beautiful.

Lisa, we are lucky to have each other even with all the ups and downs. We are so different from each other, but somehow we've figured out how to make it work...most of the time. :)

Sheri, we have had LOTS of ups and downs and moments of screaming at each other in parking lots...one time at Mt. Rushmore! We've come through a lot and somehow found a way to make things work. I wish you and your sister could find a way, but I know that it isn't always possible. (((hugs)))
