Last year the Lizard King learned that his company, Boise Paper, was laying off 300 employees at his location in St. Helens, Oregon. He was supposed to be done some time in January. Then the powers that be realized that they needed someone to restructure and get things in order and they asked him to stay on until the end of May.
The last several weeks have been so stressful for him. Today was his last day and he has breathed a sigh of relief. He will receive three and a half months severance and can collect unemployment until he is able to find a job.
He has been job hunting for quite a while now, but with the state of the economy jobs aren't all that plentiful. It's all good. The right thing will come along at the right time.
After leaving work early today (his final day), LK came home and we had a lovely afternoon together at the Oregon Zoo.
After the zoo, Freckle, the Ogre and Blue Eyed Boy came over to our house for dinner. We had a wonderful time!
We now look at the time ahead with a little uncertainty. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I also believe that something very good is coming. I look forward to it all. Life is a big adventure...we might as well enjoy it.
Happy Friday!

Your positive attitude will go a long way to making the job search less stressful. Panicking never helps. ;)
Well you already know that I know exactly what you're going through. :P
I too believe that everything happens for a reason and in it's own good time.
Something great is waiting for you guys! :)
I agree with Kelly your positive attitude is amazing. I wish you well and know things will be good. Have a great weekend.
My hubs just finished a contract yesterday too - i'm nervous but he doesn't seem to be. he has a few things that will most likely pan out. still nervous!
I'm sorry about your husband's loss of a job. I thought this might be appropriate:
sun shows behind clouds
shimmering rainbows appear
river sweeps image away.

Best wishes, Lisa :)
There will be a silver linning, you just have to wait to see what it is!!
Kelly and Frau, I totally agree. A positive attitude can make a huge difference.
Zayna, yes, you know what we're going through and it looks like the Bantering Blonde does as well. You know there were four moms in the waiting area of the ballet studio. 3 of the 4 have husbands out of work. We can all support each other if it starts to get to us.
Lisa, thank you for the Haiku! Very appropriate.:)
And yes, Teresa, there is always a silver lining.
This is very likely a good thing. Things always work out...even with all the crap we've been through with the evil ex-wife. I have no doubt that there are good things ahead.
