Composting, Gardening & The Lizard King

The Lizard King works way too hard. He hasn't had a day off in a long time. He was scheduled to leave for Cancun for some well deserved rest and relaxation...and then the whole swine flu thing hit (not him) - vacation cancelled.

He then decided that he would take a day off from work. This was supposed to happen on Friday. Then one of the people he does side work for needed some work done. It was only supposed to be about a half day, not so bad. Well, a half day turned into a full day. So much for taking the day off. He also worked Saturday and half of Sunday.

When he came home we went to pick up a new "work van" he just bought. I can't begin to tell you how excited he is about this. It will make doing side work easier because he can keep all his tools in this and have everything he needs available to him.

Then, because I guess he just hadn't worked enough that day, he built a compost bin!
Isn't it beautiful?!?! Yes, I'm way too excited about this. And no Freckle, as you can see it isn't pink.

We've started using it already!

He built two raised beds over here.

And another one here.

I was supposed to call and get a price to have dirt delivered...but you guessed it, I forgot. I did get a lot of other stuff done. It was a fabulous day. We didn't even notice that it was pouring down rain all day. I love Oregon!

Wow he is amazing like the energizer bunny! Love the work van! Sounds like a productive day for sure.

My husband too! He got a new work van last fall and fell madly in love, then spent 2 whole weeks stocking and organizing.

I thought my husband was the only guy left on the planet that could build and fix things. Way to go LK! You are going to love your new compost bin and gardens!

I'm so jealous. Compost bin AND raised beds. Although I guess I shouldn't complain since I now have a chicken coop that is mostly waterproof lol. What kind of sidework does your hubby do?

Yes Frau, he is incredible. I sometimes wonder how he does it.

Aliceson, I too am one of the lucky ones. I don't think there is anything LK can't do. Just when I think I've found something, he surprises me by knowing how to do it, too!

Gina, LK does a variety of stuff. Like I said to Aliceson, I have yet to find something he can't do.
